The Qualified Seal ID is an advanced seal for legal entities that securely proves the authenticity and integrity of documents. Unlike a seal card, it is delivered as a digital certificate and requires no additional hardware or middleware. The advanced seal with a digital certificateĪ Qualified Seal ID makes sealing documents even easier and faster. However, this seal is also used for securing integration and preserving the evidential value of documents no longer filed as paper documents but instead scanned for electronic archives or incoming mail.


These include, for instance, notarizations, certificates or electronic notices. The qualified electronic seal replaces company stamps or public authority seals and is particularly suitable for issuing documents in mass applications. This digital seal, which is both legally secure and provides high evidential value according to the eIDAS Regulation, ensures the authenticity and integrity of electronic documents and proves that they come from a specific legal entity. The qualified electronic seal is generated with a seal card. The seal solutions are created by D‑TRUST, the qualified trust service provider of the Bundesdruckerei Group, in compliance with the eIDAS Regulation ( 910/2014).
